About the Founder
Jonathan Thompson, the founder and inventor of the exchangeAutos trade engine. He initially desired to pursue a career in software engineering, and during the course of self discovery, found himself finishing with a degree in business graduating from Valdosta State University. At 19, he had his first experience in the automotive industry as a salesperson at a local Honda dealership, and quickly found himself in love with cars and the entire sales experience. In small town Valdosta, Jonathan picked up a career at eLEAD CRM - a leading automotive CRM company. While at eLEAD CRM, Jonathan met Terry McSpadden, a well-known leader in the retail automotive industry who introduced him to direct mail and event marketing. Taking the knowledge and relationships gained at eLEAD CRM, Jonathan followed Terry to EasyCare, a 30 year old automotive business development company that provides dealerships with vehicle service contract and GAP insurance benefits, led by CEO, Larry Dorfman. While at EasyCare, Terry and Jonathan worked with several partnering vendors to create a successful direct marketing division at EasyCare, providing services to over 600 dealerships in the US and Canada. At the end of 2013, Jonathan joined Force Marketing, a leader in direct and digital marketing. In the midst of developing a strong automotive direct and digital marketing career, he discovered the idea in 2011 to develop a software technology that could ease the shopping experience for automotive shoppers across the nation, exclusively for those looking to trade their current vehicle - exchangeAutos.
